abstract | A detergent composition for-mulated with conventional detersive surfactants, optional builders, deter-gent adjuncts and a suds suppressor, wherein said suds suppressor is an amino acid of formula (I), or its al-kali metal, alkaline earth metal salt or mixtures thereof, wherein R1 is an alkyl, aryl or alkaryl group containing from 1 to 14 carbon atoms, R2 is an alkylene, arylene or alkarylene group containing from 1 to 14 carbon atoms, R5 is H or an alkyl, aryl, or alkaryl group containing from 1 to 10 carbon atoms. The invention also relates to a detergent composition comprising a mixture of amidoacid and amidoperacid suds suppressors and to an aqueous wash liquor containing a detersive surfactant comprising a C10-C20 alkyl sulphate, optionally together with builders and detergent adjuncts and a suds suppressor compound wherein said suds suppressor is formed from a suds suppressor precursor. |
