titleOfInvention | A cylindric screen basket and a method of making same |
abstract | A cylindric screen, particularly for use in pressure screening devices in the pulp and paper industry, is constructed with peripherally elongated and substantially continuous screening slots. The cylindric screen is made from an integral piece of metallic sheet material, such as a stainless steel sheet, by forming spaced apart channels from one end edge to an opposite end edge of the sheet, leaving a rib between each of the channels. On the surface opposite the ribs continuous grooves are formed which are substantially perpendicular to the ribs, and slots are provided in the bottom of each groove. Then the sheet is rolled into a cylindrical shape with the side edges in abutment, and the side edges are secured to each other (e.g. by welding then directly to each other, and/or to an added elongated cover rib). |
