The present invention relates to an apparatus for conducting a variety of assays that are responsive to a change in the viscosity of a sample fluid and relates to methods of conducting such assays. In particular, the present invention is related to the use of a cartridge (10) for conducting one or more coagulation assays or, conversely, fibrinolysis assays. In particular, (1) represents a conductivity sensor, sample flow channel (2), reagent chamber (3), sample chamber (5), sealable sample port (6), and a diaphragm (7) which applies pressure to move the sample through the flow channels. |
