abstract |
Herein described are therapeutic compositions that contain, as active ingredient, hyaluronic acid fragments that are characterized structurally by a chain length of from 5 to 16 monosaccharides, and by a GlcNAc residue at the non-reducing end. A particularly preferred fragment is the nonameric GlcNAc-[GlcUA-GlcNAc]4. The fragments are useful particularly to effect localized bone repair, such as for the treatment of bone fracture. |
