The invention concerns the production of a polymer coating on the inside surface of a hollow plastic article by low-pressure plasma polymerization, the gas atmosphere which forms the plasma being generated at radio frequencies and containing an essentially non-polar gaseous or vapour-form starting material which can be polymerized under the plasma conditions used. The gas atmosphere which forms the coating may c1ontain two or more components which, on the one hand, exhibit a preponderant tendency to chain growth or, on the other hand, a preponderant tendency to the formation of branching on cross-linking points. In addition the gas atmosphere may contain a component which counters the formation of dust. |
