titleOfInvention Multilayer packaging films
abstract A biaxially oriented multilayer film structure comprising: (A) a core layer of polypropylene having dispersed therein microspheres sufficient in size and quantity so that, during orientation, the core layer becomes opaque, which either includes a minor proportion of a maleic anhydride modified polypropylene blended therein and/or has a skin Layer (B) of maleic anhydride modified polypropylene on one side; (C) a layer of ethylene vinyl alcohol (EVOH) copolymer on the maleic anhydride modified polypropylene containing layer, and (D) on the other side of the core layer a heat sealable or printable skin layer; said structure comprising polypropylene of greater orientation in the transverse direction.
