titleOfInvention Electroencephalic neurofeedback apparatus and methods for training and tracking of cognitive states
abstract A biofeedback system (10) provides detection of bioelectric signals in a range of 0-90 Hz. A bioelectric signal (26) is amplified by a preamplifier (22). The composite amplitude of the amplified signal (24) is calculated by performing a fast Fourier transform on the amplified signal to calculate amplitudes of bandwidths in the range of the detected signal. Particular bandwidths of interest can be selected and displayed on a computer (26). The display permits training of the person being monitored with audio or verbal feedback.
