titleOfInvention Process for the preparation of 1,3,5-triazines
abstract Process for the preparation of 1,3,5-triazines Abstract of the Disclosure The invention relates to a simple, one-step process for the preparation of triazines of formula (1) which comprises reacting the benzonitrile of formula (I) with the benzonitrile of formula (II) , in the temperature range from 180 to 260°C, in which formulae above R1 and R2 are as defined in claim 1. The compounds prepared by this process find utility as UV absorbers or as starting materials for the preparation of UV absorbers.
