titleOfInvention | Growth media for entomophthoralean hyphal bodies |
abstract | Abstract of the Disclosure An improved growth medium is provided for the mass fermentation production of hyphal bodies competent to form conidia of representatives of the fungal order Entomoph-thorales, e.g., Entomophaga grylli, Entomophaga maimaiga, Entomophaga calopteni, and especially Entomophaga aulicae. The improvement resides in including, in addition to a basal medium, filter-sterilized tryptic soy broth and calcium caseinate which provides a total medium. This medium allows the use of a protoplast and/or a walled stage inoculum in a batch fermentation process. |
