abstract | Thorough efficiency studies (in relation to the azadirachtin concentration) show, that the biological activity of the active substances obtained by the methods according to the invention corresponds to that of pure azadirachtin. The proceedures described have the advantage that only very few extraction steps and a very limited number of non-aqueous solvents are necessary and that inspite of this the oil content of the products is very low. From the residues obtained by the described proceedures the neem oil and/or other constituents of the neem kernels may easily be extracted according to known methods. The described proceedures open the way to the simple and (economically) efficient production of a botanical, environmentally sound insecticide. |
