titleOfInvention Fire-fighting unit and automatic fire control system
abstract A fire-fighting unit comprises a solid-fuel charge (6) of an aerosol-producing compound accommodated in the body (1) and forming therein a free space (7) whose volume is at least 30 % of the volume of the solid-fuel charge (6) and a combustion products cooling means (3) comprising a layer of heat-absorbing material which may be constituted by a friable material, a bunch of tubes or a monoblock (17) with through passages (18). An automatic fire control system comprises fire-fighting units (24), a temperature transmitter (28), main and stand-by power sources (25) and a quick-acting safety fuse (23). The invention is intended primarily for use in transport vehicles and in stationary closed locations.
