titleOfInvention Sealed-type nickel/hydrogen alkaline storage battery
abstract ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A sealed-type nickel/hydrogen alkaline storage battery comprising a battery container; a plate assembly formed by stacking a positive electrode comprising a nickel oxide, a negative electrode comprising a hydrogen occlusion alloy, and a separator interposed between the positive and negative electrodes; and an alkaline electrolyte. The specific gravity of the electrolyte is in the range of 1.31 to 1.40 at a temperature of 20°C. Preferably, the electro-lyte is an aqueous solution of potassium hydroxide, lithium hydroxide and sodium hydroxide wherein the potassium hydroxide accounts for 75 wt.% or more of the total weight of the foregoing three components.
