abstract | A method of preparing a device for transdermal delivery of an active ingredient which is solid at room temperature and in which part or all of the active ingredient is present in a supersaturated soluti on is provided in which as a first step a mixture is prepared which includes at least a polymer adhesive, a vehicle for th e polymer adhesive, the active ingredient and a solvent mixture for the active ingredient comprising at least two solvents. The mixture is formed into a film and dried. The vehicle for the polymer adhesive and at least one of the solvents in the solvent mixture for the active ingredient have boiling points below the drying temperature while at least one of the solvents in the solvent mixture for the active ingredient has a boiling point above the drying temperature, the solubility of the active ingredients in the high boi ling solvent or solvents being greater than 0.5 %. |
