abstract This invention provides a method of treating immunoinflammatory skin or bowel disease in a mammal in need thereof which comprises administering an antiimmunoinflammatory amount of rapamycin, alone or in combination with cyclosporin A, orally, parenterally, intranasally, intrabronchially, topically, transdermally, or rectally. As such, rapamycin, alone or in combination with cyclosporin A, is useful in treating skin diseases such as psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, exczematous dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis, Lichen planus, Pemphigus, bulus pemphigoid, Epidermolysis bullosa, urticaria, angioedemas, vasculitides, erythmas, cutaneous eosinphilias, and the like; and bowel diseases such as inflammatory bowel disease.
