titleOfInvention | Diaryl ethers by dehydration of phenols using a catalyst comprising supported partially reduced tungsten (vi) oxide |
abstract | "DIARYL ETHERS BY DEHYDRATION OF PHENOLS USING A CATALYST COMPRISING SUPPORTED PARTIALLY REDUCED TUNGSTEN (VI) OXIDE" ABSTRACT Diaryl ethers are prepared by dehyrating phenols or derivatives of phenol in the presence of a catalyst comprising a composite of partially reduced tungsten oxide on alumina, zirconia, or titania where the composite has been prepared by reduction with hydrogen at a temperature between 250 and 450°C and where the dehydration reaction is performed at a temperature of 350 to 550°C. |
