titleOfInvention Process for producing a gel free coagulated rubber with low ethylenic unsaturation
abstract 2073004 9106579 PCTABS00005 This invention relates to a process for making nitrile rubber characterized by being essentially gel-free and at least about 90 % saturated. The process comprising reacting an ethylenically unsaturated polymer in latex form, hydrazine, and an oxidant, followed by coagulation and filtration in order to isolate the reduced rubber. The process utilizes a reaction mixture containing a high molar ratio of hydrazine to unsaturated polymer.
