abstract A catalyst component and catalyst composition useful in the production of elastomeric, primarily isotactic polypropylene and polybutene is disclosed and it comprises the reaction product of a magnesium alkoxide compound and a tetravalent titanium halide wherein the reaction takes place in the presence of an electron donor selected from the group consisting of veratrole and derivatives thereof. The invention also relates to a process for producing such polymers using the above catalyst.
