Bovine mini-satellite probe specific to the bovine y chromosome |
abstract |
(57) Abstract The invention relates to a nucleotide sequence specific to the Y chromosome Or different species in the bovine subfamily. The sequence consists of a motif of 40 base pairs present in the bovine Y chromosome involving some 100,000 copies. The inven-tion also relates to methods for sexing different bovine subfamily species, which implement said sequence, as well as to nucleic probes and kits for carrying out these sealing methods. The sequence may also be used in the study of the male genealogy of spe-cies belonging to the bovine subfamily making use of the polymorphism brought to light by said sequence. |
