ABSTRACT This invention includes a process of purifying a novel, intracellular phospholipase A2 with an approxi-mate molecular weight of 100,000 daltons. The invention also contains the novel PLA2 enzyme and provides a par-tial amino acid sequence. The claimed PLA2 is a useful tool for developing medicinally important anti-inflammatory and anti-ischemic drugs. |
