abstract ABSTRACT PROCESS The invention provides a novel process for the manufacture of quinoline derivatives of the formula III as defined hereinafter which are angiotensin II inhibitors. The process involves the removal of a trisubstituted tin moiety from a compound of the formula IV, in which R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, Ra, Rb and Q have the various meanings defined hereinafter. Certain of the intermediates are novel and are provided as a further feature of the invention.
