abstract A method and therapeutic agent for at least partially inhibiting vascularization of a developing solid tumor. The therapuetic agent comprises polysacchridetoxin, a GBS toxin, produced by group B .beta.-hemolytic Streptococcus bacteria. The GBS agent is in a purified, toxin-active form which can be parenterally administered in an amount effective for vascularization inhibition.
