abstract The invention provides a reagent which has increased stability in a single solution configuration for use in a method for measuring uric acid concentration in a sample body fluid. More particularly, the stabilized reagent of the present invention comprises a uricase, a peroxidase, an indicator, and a polyhydroxy nonaromatic compound, preferably the polyhydric alcohols glycerol. sorbitol and mannitol, and further including an inert protein and EDTA.
