titleOfInvention | Aromatic polyethers containing azo groups |
abstract | Mo-3453 AROMATIC POLYETHERS CONTAINGING AZO GROUPS ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A dihalobenzenoid compound is reacted with a dihydric phenol containing an azo group in the presence of a base, an organic solvent and an azeotrope former. Dihydric phenols which do not contain azo groups may also be included in the reactin mixture. This reaction is generally carried out at a temperature of from about 20 to about 250°C under an inert atmosphere. The polyether obtained is represented by the formula [-O-[E-O]z-E']x [O-E"-O-E'-]y in which E, E', E", x, y and z have the meaning specified herein. Mo-3453 |
