abstract | ABSTRACT Disclosed are an acetal copolymer composed of polyacetal units and particulate crosslinked polymer units which has a viscosity of 0.1-10 dl/g and comprises a polyacetal and a particulate crosslinked polymer other than a polyacetal which has a functional group selected from the group consisting of a hydroxyl group, a carboxyl group, an amino group, an amide group, an alkoxy group, an acid anhydride group, and an epoxy group and has an average particle size of 0.01-10 µm, said polyacetal and particulate crosslinked polymer being reaction bonded to each other through the func-tional group and a process for producing an acetal copolymer composed of polyacetal units and polymer units other than polyacetals which comprises a polyacetal and a polymer other than a polyacetal which are reaction bonded to each other through a functional group mentioned below and which has a viscosity of 0.1-10 dl/g, said process comprising homopolymerizing formaldehyde or trioxane or copolymerizing formaldehyde or trioxane with a cyclic ether in the presence of a polymer other than a polyacetal which has a functional group selected from the group consisting of a hydroxyl group, a carboxyl group, an amino group, an amide group, an alkoxy group, an acid anhydride group, and an epoxy group and which has an average dispersion particle size of 0.01-2000 µm. |
