abstract |
The use of radiolabelled atrial natriuretic factor (ANF) for in vivo imaging of various organs of a human or animal is disclosed. Such imaging is useful in the diagnosis and monitoring of certain diseases. Imaging is carried out by administering the radiolabelled ANF and then following the course of the radioactivity in target organs of the body by means of a suitable detection system. The amount and rate of uptake, displacement and wash-out of the radio-labelled compound in the target organ are analyzed to evaluate organ size, function and pathology. |
