PRECISION OF DISCLOSURE: The subject of the present invention is a method of preparation of mono- or polyalkoxylated aromatic compounds with from aromatic compounds carrying at least one atom halogen. The invention relates to a method of preparation of alkoxylated aromatic compounds which consists of reacting an aromatic compound carrying at least one halogen atom with an alkali metal alcoholate or alkaline earth, in the presence of a copper catalyst and which is characterized by the fact that one operates in the presence of a co-catalyst chosen from formamides and their acetals. In an alternative embodiment, the invention aims also the reaction of the product obtained after alkoxylation and carrying a hydroxyl group, with an agent alkylation. The invention is perfectly suited to the preparation of 3,4,5-trimethoxy benzaldehyde and 3,4-dimethoxy benzaldehyde. |
