abstract |
The disclosure describes a catalyst composition for use in a Fischer-Tropsch process, in which the composition comprises activated carbon. It has been found that activated carbon of which at least 90 percent of the particles is smaller than 45 micron or of which at least 90 percent of the particles fall within the range of 850 micron to 1200 micron yields particularly good results. The disclosure also describes a method of manufacturing an iron-based catalyst composition for use in a Fischer-Tropsch process, in which activated carbon is added to any of the catalyst pre ursors, at any stage prior to the extrusion stage. |
