titleOfInvention Electrochemical process for purifying chromium-containing wastes
abstract ABSTRACT A method of purifying wastes containing chromium in both the hexavalent and trivalent states comprising passing the waste to be purified through an electrolytic cell, through the pores of a porous carbon electrode connected as the cathode, whereby the hexavalent chromium present in the waste is electrolytically reduced and subsequently or simultaneously precipitated as chromium or an insoluble chromium compound within the pores of the porous carbon electrode.
