titleOfInvention | Dehydrated rare earths halides and process for production thereof |
abstract | PRECISION OF DISCLOSURE: The invention relates to earth halides rare dehydrated and a process for producing them. The object of the invention is to dehydrate halides of rare earths hydrated to produce industrially halides containing low levels of both water and oxyhalide. It relates more particularly to a chloride, bromide, iodide rare earth halide containing less than 1.5% by weight of water and less than 3% by weight of oxyhalide. This halide is obtained by dehydration of a hydrated halide by passing a stream of a halogenated dehydrating agent (hydride halogen) through the mass to be dehydrated. |
