Novel nitrobenzoxazine compounds are useful as dyes for coloring keratinaceous substrates such as human hair. Compounds of formula I (see fig. I) wherein: X and Y are independently selected from the group consisting of: hydrogen, C1-6 alkyl, C1-6alkoxyalkyl, C1-6 aminoalkyl, C1-6 hydroxyalkyl, and C1-6 hydroxyaminoalkyl. |
