abstract The invention relates to a process for the preparation of (co) semi-aromatic amorphous or semi-crystalline polyamides from an acid reagent comprising at least one acid aromatic dicarboxylic having 8 to 18 carbon atoms, an amino reagent mainly comprising an alkyl-pentamethylenèdiamine and optionally a catalyst. According to this process, the reactants are polycondensed operating in an autoclave-type closed system according to a protocol comprising the following steps: step 1 of distillation of the water present in the reaction mass under constant autogenous pressure. A step 2 of decompression to atmospheric pressure and a step 3 finishing, making sure that some of the water is added initially to the reaction mass and other apart from the distillation from step 1 is carried out in special temperature conditions (temperature of start of distillation T1 between 160 ° C and 190 ° C) and autogenous pressure (between 0.5 and 1.2 MPa). Thanks in this process, the losses in amino reagent (by sequence in the distillates and by cyclization) are significant-reduced.
