abstract | PURIFICATION OF FACTOR XIII Abstract of the Disclosure Methods for purifying factor XIII from a variety of biological fluids are disclosed. Within one aspect of the invention, the method comprises adjusting the pH of the fluid to about pH 5.5 to 6.5 to precipitate the factor XIII, and subsequently recovering the precipitated factor XIII. Within a related aspect of the present invention, the method comprise (a) fractionating the biological fluid by anion exchange chromatography to produce an enriched fraction; (b) adjusting the pH of the enriched fraction to about pH 5.5 to 6.5 to precipitate the factor XIII; and (c) recovering the precipitated factor XIII. |
