Disclosed are now bithienyl derivatives of the formula Ia: (see fig. I) where the substituents have the following meanings: R1, R2 hydrogen, halogen, nitro, formyl, C1-C6-alkyl, C1-C6-haloalkyl, C3-C8-cycloalkyl, C3-C8-cycloalkoxy, C1-C6-alkoxy, C1-C4-haloalkoxy, C1-C4-alkylthio, C1-C4-haloalkylthio, substituted or unsubstituted C1-C6-alkylcarbonyl, substituted or unsubstituted C3-C6-cycloalkylcarbonyl, substituted or unsubstituted C1-C6-alkoxycarbonyl and/or phenylcarbonyl; R3 hydrogen, halogen, C1-C4-alkyl, C1-C4-alkoxy, C1-C4-alkylthio, C1-C4-haloalkyl or C1-C4-haloalkoxy; A -CSNH2; substituted or unsubstituted oxazol-2-yl, oxazol-5-yl, isoxazol-3-yl or thiazol-2-yl. Also disclosed are methods of manufacturing compounds Ia, and herbicidal compositions containing a bithienyl derivative of the general formula I: (see fig. II) where B is -CSNH2; substituted or unsubstituted phenyl, naphthyl, furyl, oxazolyl, isoxazolyl, thiazolyl or a corresponding benzofused radical. |
