abstract |
A method is provided for attaching 32P to a protein, normally an antibody, that will bind with and irradiate a tumour-associated structure leading to therapeutic benefit. The invention is based upon the introduction of a peptide region to the protein, which is capable of acting as a substrate for a phosphokinase utilising 32P-.gamma.-ATP as a typical source of the radionuclide. The conjugation of the substrate molecule to the protein may be achieved by chemical methods or by genetic engineering techniques. Novel substrate peptides are disclosed. |
