abstract The invention relates to a method for treating a heavy oil of petroleum containing asphaltenes for the purpose of producing crude synthetic. According to the invention, the load is divided (having been possibly subjected beforehand to desalting and topping) in at minus a first part and a second part, we submit the second part in hydropyrolysis (visbreaking) followed by deasphalting and remixing said first part with deasphalted oil obtained after hydropyrolysis and deasphalting of the second part. Applications in the transportation of heavy oils and in production bitumen.
