ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: Certain heterologous proteins such as hormones, lymphoquins, viral antigens or immunogens, all useful in the therapeu-tical and diagnostic field, may be prepared by cultivating, in a suitable culture medium, a yeast transformed with a hybrid plasmid, and recovering from the culture medium the desired proteins. The hybrid plasmid is obtained by cloning the DNA sequence which codes for the heterologous protein into one of the restriction sites of a polylinker of a vector. Such an expression and secretion vector in yeasts, comprises a synthetic oligonucleotide, which directs the secretion of the heterologous protein, positioned between the inducible hybrid promoter GAL-CYC and a multiple-site polylinker followed by the signals of transcription termination recognized by the RNA-polymerase of the yeasts. |
