abstract Abstract of the Disclosure This invention relates to an aqueous, acidic composition useful to deposit a corrosion inhibiting and adhesion promoting coating on a metal substrate and a method for doing same. The composition has a pH of between about 2 and about 6 and comprises water-soluble or water-dispersible metal-chelating o-hydroxybenzylamine compound, wherein the amine moiety contains pendant ethanol or propanol moiety.
