abstract ABSTRACT This invention is an improvement in a process for preparing polyurethane and/or polyurea polymers wherein an isocyanate terminated quasi-prepolymer is reacted with an active hydrogen-containing composition to form a polyurethane and/or polyurea polymer. The improvement comprises employing as the quasi-prepolymer a solution of an isocyanate terminated prepolymer in a monomeric polyisocyanate, wherein said isocyanate--terminated prepolymer is the reaction product of a polyisocyanate and a relatively high equivalent weight isocyanate-reactive material, and said isocyanate-terminated prepolymer has an average molecular weight of at least twice that of said relatively high equivalent weight isocyanate-reactive material. 34,868-F In another aspect, this invention relates to a quasi-prepolymer which comprises a solution of an isocyanate- terminated prepolymer in a monomeric polyisocyanate, wherein said isocyanate-terminated prepolymer is the reaction product of a polyisocyanate and a relatively high equivalent weight isocyanate-reactive material, and said isocyanate-terminated prepolymer has an average molecular weight of at least twice that of said relatively high equivalent weight isocyanate-reactive material. 34,868-F
