abstract | ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method for the tissue culture of a plant in a liquid medium, in which a phytohormone is fed to the medium intermittently under defined conditions to enable a stable culture for a long period with a high growth rate of the cell. The conditions include: (a) the feeding time interval, D(day), of the phytohormone is 0.5 to 5 times the doubling time of the cells, and (b) the amount of the phytohormone supplied satisfies the equation: where A is the amount (in moles) of the phytohormone fed intermittently to the medium; W is the fresh weight of the cells (in grams) present in the culture region; and D is as defined above. |
