abstract |
Abstract A novel aromatic bismaleimide having the formula (I): (I) wherein X is , , or , where R1 R2, R3 and R4 are a hydrogen atom or a methyl group. The bismaleimide is prepared by reacting an aromatic diamine having the formula (II): (II) wherein X is the same as in the formula (I) with maleic anhydride and then conducting the ring-closing reaction of the resultant aromatic bismaleamic acid. The bismaleimide is useful as the raw material for aromatic bismaleimide type thermal setting resin having excellent impact strength, flexibility and toughness. |
