abstract ABSTRACT There are provided gastric cytoprotective exogenously acidified aluminum hydroxide antacid compositions which are formed by acidifying, for example, commercial liquid antacid suspensions containing aluminum hydroxide, antacid powders or solids containing aluminum hydroxide, or aluminum hydroxide gel, to the point where the aluminum hydroxide is solubilized. The solutions may be formulated into liquid dosage forms or spray dried and formulated into solid dosage forms.
