Bifunctional chelating agents |
abstract |
ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Novel homocysteine thiolactone bifunctional chelating agents useful for chelating radionuclides to produce a ratiodiagnostic agent for use in in vivo imaging and a method for producing this chelating agent. The novel com-pounds have the formula: wherein R is hydrogen or lower alkyl, R1 and R2 are individually hydrogen or lower alkyl or taken together form oxo; R3 is an amino protecting group where R1 and R2 are individually hydrogen or lower alkyl; R3 is hydrogen when R1 and R2 taken together form oxo; R4 is hydrogen or lower alkyl; R5 is hydrogen or a thiol protecting group; x and y are integers from 0 to 2. |
