abstract ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An improved method for determining the presence and/or amount of an analyte in a sample, such as a biological fluid, is disclosed. The method comprises contacting the sample containing the analyte or a derivative thereof with a peroxidatively-active material in the presence of a peroxidase to produce a peroxide, and a substance capable of producing a detectable response in the presence of the peroxide as a measure of the analyte present in the sample, wherein the improvement comprises using a microperoxidase as the peroxidase.
