titleOfInvention Reading device for stimulable phosphor panel
abstract Reading Device For Stimulable Phosphor Panel ABSTRACT OF DISCLOSURE An elliptical section mirror is placed with its con-cave side turned towards the surface of a stimulable phos-phor panel to detect and deflect towards the second of its focal segments the light emitted by the phosphor after the scanning thereof with a stimulating ray passing through an opening of the mirror. The panel, the emitting surface and the emitting depth of the panel passes through the first focal segment of the mirror and the stimulating radiation impinges upon the panel, preferably in a perpendicular direction, along said first focal segment. A light guide having a straight-line inlet end placed in the second fo-cal segment of the mirror is impinged upon by the light coming from the first focal segment and transfers it to-wards a photodetector through an outlet end.
