titleOfInvention Nonuniform laser scribing techniques and resulting products
abstract 26 51,967 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Methods of nonuniform transverse laser scribing are utilized to vary the permeability of a ferromagnetic sheet having a large domain size. Permeability may be varied across the width, across the length, or simultane-ously across both the width and length of the sheet. In addition ferromagnetic sheets having been uniformly trans-versely scribed by differing techniques resulting in a uniform permeability within a sheet, but sheet to sheet permeability variations, may be combined in a transformer to control flux distribution, to reduce core loss.
