titleOfInvention | Process for obtaining vanillin |
abstract | A PROCESS FOR OBTAINING VANILLIN ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A process for obtaining vanillin by the extraction of a liquid mixture of substances that contains water and vanillin using carbon dioxide at a temperature of 0-110°C and at a pressure of 30-400 bar with a subsequent separation of the vanillin is described. In this process it is proposed that the carbon dioxide that contains the vanillin is passed through an aqueous hydrogen sulfite or sulfite solution at ex-traction temperature and extrac-tion pressure, that the solution is then acidified to a pH value of 2-4 using sulfuric acid, and in that the carbon dioxide that contains no vanillin is passed back to the extraction stage. |
