Aromatic polyamide yarn impregnated with lubricating particles, a process for the manufacture of such a yarn, and packing material or rope containing this yarn |
abstract |
ABSTRACT The invention relates to a filament yarn of aromatic polyamides which is impregnated with solid particles of a fluorine-containing polymer and/or graphite. The solid particles are incorporated into the yarn by very uni-formly distributing them over the filaments in that the solid particles are applied to the yarn from an aqueous dispersion and the yarn is subjected to a blowing treatment while feeding them at an excess feed rate or not. The yarn thus impregnated is first of all intended to be processed into a packing material or rope. |
