abstract ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention relates to novel N- and optionally N'-substituted (N-di-chloroacetyl) glycine amide of the formula (I) wherein R1 and R2 are the same or different and represent hydrogen, alkyl containing 1 to 10 carbon atoms, alkenyl containing 2 to 10 carbon atoms, cycloalkyl containing 5 to 6 carbon atoms, unsubstit-uted phenyl or phenyl substituted by alkyl containing 1 to 3 carbon atoms, dialkyl containing 1 to 3 carbon atoms in the alkyl moiety or halo, or together form a hexamethylene group, R3 stands for alkyl containing 1 to 5 carbon atoms or alkenyl containing 2 to 5 carbon atoms with the proviso that if one of R1 or R2 represents hydrogen, the other does not represent phenyl or substituted phenyl, with antidote action, to antidote compositions containing such compounds, to selective herbicide compositions containing these antidotes together with herbicidally active com-pounds and to a method for treating cultivated plants with said compositions.
