Flottation of minerals |
abstract |
PRECISION OF DISCLOSURE: The invention relates to a flotation composition. of minerals which when added to an ore pulp in front to be treated forms a microemulsion, characterized in that that it is constituted by the mixture of a compound serving collector with a surfactant compound and a co-surfactant in that said compound serving as a collector is an organic thiocompound chosen from the group consisting of killed by mercaptans containing 8 to 18 carbon atoms and sulfides of formula R-Sx-R ', in which R and R', alike or different, are hydrocarbon groups in C1 to C14 and x is a number from 2 to 8; in that the co-tensio-active is chosen from the group consisting of alcohols comprising at least 3 carbon atoms; and in that the pro-portion of surfactant and co-surfactant is such that the mixture forms a microemulsion in water. The invention also relates to a process for the enrichment of metals using the above-mentioned composition. This process makes it possible to use some very insufficient collectors fully soluble in water and provides better solubility yields. |
