abstract ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Novel thiopyranopyrimidine compounds and the pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts thereof having excellent hypoglycemic activity, platelet aggretation inhibitory activity, antihistamine activity and anti-allergy activity useful for prevention and treatment of various disorders caused by diabetes, allergy and the like are disclosed The novel thiopyranopyrimidine compounds are represented by the general formula (I) (I) wherein R1 represents an amino group, a methylamino group, a hydroxyethylamino group, a pyrrolidino group, a morpho-lino group, a piperazino group or an N-substituted piperazino group, and R2 represents a methylamino group, a dimethylamino group, a piperazino group, an N-substituted piperazino group, a pyrrolidino group, a piperidino group or a morpholino group, said N-substituted piperazino group selected from the group consisting of N-alkylpiperazino group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms in the alkyl moiety, an N-benzyl-piperazino group, an N-formylpiperazino group and an N-(halo-benzyl) piperazino group wherein the halogen is selected from the group consisting of chlorine and bromine.
